Director Tara Erickson’s A Real Killjoy 2 To Release on the 12th of February
Director Tara Erickson’s short film A Real Killjoy 2 is the sequel to A Real Killjoy. A Real Killjoy won the Best of the Fest and Special Jury Award. A Real Killjoy 2 will be released on February 12th on the director’s YouTube channel. The first short film had to be taken down due to the overwhelming amount of requests it received from different film festivals. With this new short film, the director hopes to receive more funding to turn it into a series or a feature film.
Here is a review of the first film by WHY SO BLU (Jason Coleman) “A Real Killjoy” – “With the drollness of Steven Wright blended with the zany bits of Shaun of the Dead, writer/director/actor Tara Erickson delivers big time as Sam Jones (go Flash Gordon!) a sassy gal with two problems – zombies and dating. My only complaint would be this one is TOO short, but I’ve heard sequel chatter… (More brains?)”
A Real Killjoy 2 is a continuation of the first film and dare I say, it may include more brains.
A Real Killjoy 2 narrates the story of Sam Jones, the infamous “zombie slayer,” is still stuck in a post-apocalyptic world. A couple seeks her help with a stalker zombie who doesn’t respect their relationship boundaries. Written and directed by Tara Erickson, the running time of the short film is 5 minutes. In pivotal roles, the film stars Tara Erickson, Mary Oneil, Shawna Pardo, Lara Gatling, and Mira Flamenco.
A Real Killjoy 2 is Tara’s third directorial venture. She’s won over 5 Best Actress awards for her work in “Prime of your Life” in the role of Samantha. She recently won A Special Merit award at IndieFest 2022.
“I am constantly finding ways to create and make films. Currently, I am working with Skyler Caleb on a short called “Paranoia” which is set to shoot in February 2022. I also just completed a kid’s picture book, Drew The Lonely Dragon, which will be released in late February 2022,” said Tara Erickson.
