The American Certification Institute (ACI) is a premier professional certification organization, dedicated to preparing students for the evolving global job market. Services

Students are offered a wide variety of packaging options. After the initial training is completed, ACI administers an exam to the candidate, and upon successful competition, confers the appropriate certification to the candidate.

Multi-Level Programs

All ACI certification programs are multi-level. The practitioner level is for professionals at the beginning of their career or within three years of the start date. The second level of Manager is for those currently in management positions or aspiring to such a position. The third level of Consultant or Executive is for the practitioner who aspires to top management or consulting. Each level has appropriate training materials and examinations. Many ACI graduates have progressed through all three levels as they proceed through their careers.

Employers spend an enormous amount of time and resources training employees who lack the necessary, specialized knowledge in their fields. The outcome of using TSIPP is the translation of classroom instruction into real world career settings: better prepared candidates who have kept pace with their discipline. For prospective candidates competing in today’s global economy, continuing education or training beyond college is necessary to close gaps in skills and ensure that candidates are career-ready.

Overseas Operations in China

In 2003, ACI expanded its overseas operations to China to meet the growing demand for professional certification programs. Almost fifty percent of Chinese citizens have a college diploma. For these college graduates, differentiating themselves among other candidates during the hiring process has become increasingly difficult. Similarly, employers evaluating a candidate’s qualifications find that determining their value to the company becomes difficult to gauge. An TSIPP-based appraisal system for competency facilitates the hiring process for both the candidate and the employer. ACI’s platform allows candidates to demonstrate the specific requirements that employers are looking for, while providing employers with criteria to evaluate competencies.

In partnership with Beijing East Professional Cultural Exchange, we collaborated on making adjustments to our curriculum to ensure its suitability to the needs and expectations of our Chinese students. In working with a local organization, we gained a more detailed understanding of the Chinese workplace culture and organization, in addition to its similarities and differences to Western company practices. Besides differences in culture and language, pedagogy was also a factor. While this may have been viewed as a barrier to other training programs seeking to expand in the Chinese market, we saw this as a learning opportunity. With the guidance of our partner, we reshaped and enhanced different aspects of our curriculum.

ACI has provided certification to over half a million Chinese students since beginning its operations in China. Through our students’ successful completion of training courses across a variety of fields, we have built up our brand and reputation. In China, we have developed great working relationships with local universities and government education departments. Thus, our professional relationships will improve our system as an appraisal platform, benefitting Chinese students in the future.

ACI’s Vision and Expansion  

ACI’s vision in education is to provide an international competency appraisal platform that fosters professionalism in candidates and teaches requisite skills to compete in the modern global job market. Moreover, we aim to ease the hiring process for companies, enabling employers to accurately identify and select suitable candidates.

We are currently working on forming a partnership with www.aamft.org to expand our curriculum to include entry level marriage and family therapy. In addition to expanded training courses, we will continue our work with universities in China and enhance our certification system, expanding access to our program to more cities across the country.
