The Virtual Worldschooling Summit To Take Place February 10th, 2020

February 01
00:21 2020
The virtual worldschooling summit provides families with valuable information, resources, strategies and inspiration that empower families to take the next step with confidence on their worldschooling journeys.

One of the most important events for Worldschooling enthusiasts is set to take place 10th-14th February. The free event, hosted by mother and son team Lainie Liberti & Miro Siegel, will educate attendees about the benefits of Worldschooling and provide actionable steps for families to transform the world into their classroom.

Liberti & Miro Siegel, who are behind a vibrant  Facebook group called We Are Worldschoolers are also the co-founders of Project World School, a company that creates temporay learning communities for teens around the world. The pair have been worldschooling for over a decade and have traveled and lived in more than 40 countries. Lainie and Miro decided to launch the online event to provide support for families who are also interested in alternative education moving beyond the homeschooling model to consider worldschooling as another option. Worldschooling is takes the principles of learning outside of a classroom and combines family multi-age learning with travel, utilizing cultural and experiential learning as the foundation. Worldschooling  provides a “world-class education” for youth that are faced with the demands of a new globalized world.

The Virtual Worldschooling Summit provides valuable information from education experts, traveling families, health professionals, and entrepreneurs on how execute each and every step.  Every day of the five day virtual summit, ten new videos will be released, exploring the themes: Travel-Compatible Educational Approaches, The Basics of Worldschooling & How to Get Started, Transforming the World into your Classroom, Location Independence & Financial Sustainability and more.

This is not the first time that the mother and son team have run worldschooling events, but this will be the world’s first virtual worldschooling event. With over 50 speakers and 40 hours of content interviews and presentations, the Virtual Worldschooling Summit is the premier resource for everything worldschooling.

When asked why they were holding such a massive online event Lainie Liberti replied: “When we first started out over a decade ago there was not much information available. That meant we made lots of mistakes. This event will help other families avoid those mistakes and provide a roadmap to execute their own supported worldschooling journey.”

According to recent figures, there are just over 3 million homeschoolers around the world. However, many believe if more information about the benefits worldschooling was available then that figure may increase.

For those parents considering Worldschooling but are not sure what is involved or how to get started, then this event is for them.

About The Event Hosts

Lainie Liberti, a mom and recovering branding expert (whose 18 year career once focused on creating campaigns for green – eco businesses, non-profits and conscious businesses) and her now 21-year-old son Miro Siegel, set out 11 years ago on what became a life changing journey.

In 2008, California’s economy took a turn causing the closure of many local businesses. Lainie and then 9-year-old Miro decided to “be the change” instead of victims as the pair began the process of redesigning their lives, with the dream of spending stress-free quality time together. After closing her business, selling and giving away all of their possessions, Lainie and Miro hit the road for what was to be a one year adventure mid-2009. Eleven years, and almost fifty countries (and countless personal changes) later, Lainie and Miro continue to slow travel around the globe, living an inspired possession-free-lifestyle, volunteering and learning naturally from the world around them.

Both Lainie and Miro have been forever changed, inspired by diverse cultures, histories, languages and traditions, often encouraging the pair to examine their own humanity and interconnectedness. Lainie and Miro have become advocates for life learning at any age, combined with travel. They call it “worldschooling.”

In 2011, the mother and son duo co-founded Project World School in hopes of bringing this experience to others. Project World School was born from an inspired idea: co-create temporary learning communities around the world with teens and young adults, in order to collaborate in rich experiential and social learning. During the retreats, both natural and academic learning occurs through immersive cultural experiences while encouraging social learning, teamwork and leadership. In addition to the teen retreats, Lainie and Miro also host two international family conferences a year called the Project World School Family Summits. To date, they’s produced six in person summits, hosting hundreds of families and providing community for worldschoolers around the globe.

In 2016, the pair gave a TEDx Education talk about their experiences now with almost 85,000 views on youtube: https://youtu.be/bH-kQJ10WWo
