UK-based business management service providers, Mint Formation, have launched a competition for students. They will award one winner with a £1000 cash prize.

Mint Formations have announced the launch of their Enterprising Entrepreneur Award competition, a scheme aimed at students currently studying in the UK. The competition awards one winning entry with a £1000 cash prize, to help further their education or start a business venture.

Open to entries from November 1st 2019, the competition invites students to submit a business pitch of a maximum of 1000 words. The pitch should detail their business concept and strategy for success in the style of Dragon’s Den. Applicants must submit their entries before February 28th 2019 and the winner will be announced in early 2020.

The competition is free to enter.

Anyone over the age of 16 can apply if they are currently studying at an accredited British educational establishment – or are enrolled to start on a course within the next 12 months. Applicable institutions include sixth-form colleges and universities. International students studying in the UK are welcome to enter. All applicants must provide evidence of enrollment.

Rajesh Velayuthasamy, owner and Director of Mint Formations, spoke about the reasoning behind starting the competition: “At Mint Formations, we’re all about helping business owners achieve true success. We’re inspired every day by the innovative ideas and concepts our clients devote their lives to and want to help a new generation of business minds find their feet. Our hope is that our competition will help uncover amazing new talents and that the grant will be used to ensure their dreams become a reality.”

Velayuthasamy will be one of three judges of the competition, alongside co-founder of Mint Formations, Andy Tree, and Tim Cameron-Kitchen, business university graduate and owner of Digital Marketing agency, Exposure Ninja.

Criteria for winners includes presenting new, forward-thinking ideas that inject creativity into the business landscape and provide something different. The judges are also looking for a realistic strategy that involves clever use of financial planning. Overall, the business should be an idea that could be launched by the winner.
